Article Publication Charge (APC)
Information Research Communications (IRC) is pleased to announce that No Article Publication Charges will be levied for submissions made during the years 2024 and 2025. This initiative is designed to support researchers and promote the free dissemination of scientific knowledge, eliminating financial barriers to publication.
What do we publish?
Information Research Communications (IRC) aims to serve as a premier interdisciplinary journal, providing a unified platform for the global dissemination of essential research findings, innovative methodologies, comprehensive reviews, and stimulating discussions across various subjects within the expansive domain of Information Sciences. IRC publishes papers related to a wide range of topics, including: Information Retrieval, Data Management, Information Systems, Knowledge Management, Digital Libraries, Information Governance, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Behavior, Information Ethics, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
This breadth of coverage ensures that IRC remains at the forefront of advancing knowledge and understanding in the field of Information Sciences.
Editorial Policies
Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial assessment to ensure adherence to scientific standards. Papers lacking originality, significant messages, or substantial flaws are rejected pre-review. Selected manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by expert reviewers, with final decisions made by the editorial team. Authors may respond to reviewer comments and revise their manuscripts accordingly. IRC aims to maintain high scientific standards and completes the review process within approximately three months of submission. All aspects of submission and review are managed online through the journal’s submission system.
Authorship
Information Research Communications (IRC) upholds the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in scientific publishing, ensuring transparency, reproducibility, and trustworthiness in research dissemination. Authors should keep their submissions concise and adhere to the aforementioned guidelines to maintain the quality and credibility of the journal.
Originality and Attribution
Manuscripts must be the original work of the authors, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. Proper citation and attribution are crucial for content not originating from the authors.
Redundant Publication
Authors should avoid submitting essentially the same research to multiple journals or outlets, as it is considered unethical publishing behaviour.
Accuracy and Data Presentation
Authors must provide an accurate account of their work with objective discussions of its significance. Data should be presented accurately with sufficient detail for replication. Fabrication of results or fraudulent statements is unethical and may lead to rejection or retraction.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest, particularly concerning commercial products used in the research. Sources of financial support should also be disclosed.
Copyright and Licensing
IRC articles are copyrighted under a Creative Commons “Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike” license, allowing authors to retain copyright while permitting others to copy, distribute, and display the work under specific conditions.
Permissions for Third-Party Content
Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to include any images or artwork not owned by them. The copyright holder must be informed that the content will be freely available under the Creative Commons license.
Authorship and Acknowledgments
Authors’ names should reflect their contributions, with only those making substantive contributions listed as authors. Individuals with marginal contributions should be acknowledged in a separate section.
Correction of Errors
Authors are obligated to promptly notify IRC editors of significant errors or inaccuracies in their published articles, cooperating with corrections or retractions as necessary.
IRC upholds the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in scientific publishing, ensuring transparency, reproducibility, and trustworthiness in research dissemination.
Publishing Policies
Information Research Communications (IRC) is dedicated to upholding the integrity of the academic record. We strongly encourage authors to consult the Committee on Publication Ethics’ International Standards for Authors and to refer to the Publication Ethics page: https://inforescom.org/ethics-and-malpractice-statement/

IRC requires authors, as the rights holders, to sign an Authorship Contribution Form/Agreement before publication. Manuscripts are published under Creative Commons licenses, typically CC BY-NC, allowing non-commercial reuse with proper attribution. Authors may request alternative license arrangements to meet specific funder mandates. For more details, please refer to IRC’s OA licenses page: https://inforescom.org/open-access-policy/
